Search for 2008 MSGP NOIs and NOEs
Permit Information
Waiting -A complete NOI has been received. EPA's Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) requires a waiting period from the time an NOI is posted on EPA's website until coverage under the permit begins. The waiting period for the MSGP depends on your discharger category and whether or not your stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) is posted on the Internet. During the waiting period NOIs can be reviewed by EPA, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the National Marine Fisheries Service. The waiting period is as follows:
- Existing dischargers covered under the 2000 MSGP - 30 days after EPA posts the NOI on this webpage.
- New dischargers or sources that started discharging between October 30, 2005 and January 5, 2009 - 30 days after EPA posts the NOI on this webpage.
- New dischargers or new sources that started discharging after January 5, 2009:
- If the SWPPP is posted on the Internet and the Internet address (i.e., URL) to your SWPPP is provided on the NOI form, then 30 days after EPA posts the NOI on this webpage; or
- If the SWPPP is not posted on the Internet, then 60 days after EPA posts the NOI on this webpage.
Active - A complete NOI has been received. The waiting period has been completed and no additional issues have been identified. Coverage under the EPA permit began on the date indicated.
On Hold - A complete NOI has been received, however, it has been placed on hold by EPA. This project or facility is ineligible for coverage under the EPA permit until identified issues are resolved.
Terminated - A Notice of Termination (NOT) has been submitted for this project. This project is no longer covered by the EPA permit.
Expired - The 2008 MSGP expired at midnight on September 29, 2013. A new permit to replace it has not been issued. Facilities that obtained coverage under the 2008 MSGP prior to its expiration are automatically granted an administrative continuance of permit coverage. The administrative continuance will remain in effect until a new permit is issued. Those facilities already covered under the 2008 MSGP are not required to submit a new NOI for permit coverage until the MSGP is reissued, and must continue to comply with all of the requirements in the 2008 permit, including requirements for monitoring and reporting.
