Property Highlights

A Structural Engineering Report was completed in 2008. The Town of Montague funded a Building Debris Pile Remediation study in April 2011. A fire destroyed the structure in 2017, a Hazardous Buildings Material Assessment is needed to determine how to remediate the building debris.

Former Use: Located between the Connecticut River and power canal, the building was a cotton mill (1880s-1950s), and later a retail store called Railroad Salvage & warehouse into the early 1990s. Vacant and not maintained, the historic brick building continued to deteriorate. A Structural Engineering Report was completed in 2008 and the Town of Montague funded a Building Debris Pile Remediation study in April 2011. In early January 2017, the building was completely destroyed by an arson fire.
