Additional Property Attributes

A US EPA Assessment Grant was used to assess the site for possible impacts associated with the long history of handling petroleum products and hazardous substances at the site, mostly in 55-gallon drums. Elevated metals levels were detected in an area with metal shavings dumpsters, and in historic fill material identified in the eastern part of the site. Low levels of VOCs and PNAs were also detected, but below applicable Part 201 residential criteria. US EPA Grant funding was also used to identify asbestos-containing building materials that will be encountered during site building demolition activities. Ash Stevens purchased the site after completion of the assessment activities, and plans to move its corporate headquarters and its research and analytical laboratories to the site, after completion of the site lease extended to the seller. It is anticipated that 70 permanent and 48 temporary jobs will result from the site redevelopment activities.

Former Use: The site is currently occupied by a 21,198 square foot industrial building and two attached warehouse buildings 12,960 square foot with associated parking and storage areas southern portion, and vacant land northern portion. The site was vacant land and/or unimproved farm land from at least 1937 to 1977, and has been occupied by Control Manufacturing Corporation CMC since 1978 the former owner and current tenant.
