Additional Property Attributes

Designed by Louis Kamper and built in 1911, the Book House is an anchor property in the Indian Village historic district and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Ars Poetica Chamber Orchestra purchased the property with intent restore the historic building and to use the property as its main point of business.

Former Use: The subject property consisted of undeveloped land from at least 1889 until 1910 when a residential dwelling known as the Book House and private garage were constructed. The subject property remained residential until the mid-1940s, when alterations and an addition were completed to convert the building for use as a commercial office. The subject property remained commercial until 2008, when it was vacated. Currently, the subject property contains a vacant, commercial building.
