Additional Property Attributes

The Site consists of one rectangular-shaped 0.466-acre vacant lot located off Montello Street between White Avenue and Bolton Place in Brockton, Massachusetts. The Site is primarily vacant with a small portion occupied with an approximate 50-foot by 50-foot single-story building constructed circa 1970 as an addition to a larger three-story brick building Corcoran Building located off-Site adjacent to the southern Site boundary at 308 Montello Street. The Site building is accessed through a street side entryway off Montello Street to the west as well as through the Corcoran building at 308 Montello Street. Remaining portions of the Site are paved, overgrown with dense vegetation, or covered with stockpiles, and can be accessed via a gated entrance off Montello Street. Former Use: Between 1885 and 1954 the Site was occupied by multiple buildings used for residential and commercial purposes including lumber storage, hay and grain distribution. The current Site building was constructed around 1970 as a plumbing supply showroom for the Corcoran Supply Company, a plumbing supplies warehouse/distribution center which occupied the Site and adjacent property to the south at 308 Montello Street from at least 1950 through 1970. Surrounding properties appear to have been historically occupied by a mix of industrial, commercial, and residential tenants, including a grist mill, a hay/straw storage house/distribution center, lumber sheds and yards, a wholesale grocer, and manufacturers of shoes, boxes, and sausages. Former street addresses for portions of the Site have included 290 and 306 Montello Street. According to information obtained from the City of Brockton Assessor?s Office, the Site is identified as Parcel 135-073, and is currently owned by the City of Brockton.
