The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is the recipient of a United States Environmental Protection Agency Targeted Site Assessment Grant. The grant provides funding for environmental investigation of brownfield sites with the goal of helping to return the sites to productive use. At the request of the Town of Huntington, grant funds were utilized to complete a site characterization investigation at the Rotundo site located at 1345 New York Avenue in the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County, New York. The investigation assessed environmental impacts associated with use of the site as a construction and demolition C&D recycling and transfer station.
