Additional Property Attributes

The site was undeveloped until the mid to late 1940s, when a small structure was constructed in the southern portion. The site building was constructed by 1957. The now-vacant site building was formerly occupied by a party store, a ceramics store, a fiber crafts store, an amusement machine repair shop and a motorcycle club.

Former Use: The approximately 0.19-acre site includes three parcels, with an approximately 1,672 square foot commercial building located in the southeast part of the site. The site building is currently vacant, with a gravel parking area located west of the building. The site was unimproved land from at least 1937 to the mid-1940s. The site was occupied by one small structure located within the southern portion of the site in the late 1940s. The current site building was occupied by a party store from 1953 to 1972, by a ceramics store from 1973 to 1975, was vacant from 1975 to 1977, was occupied by a retail fiber crafts store in 1977, by an amusement machine repair shop 1979, and by a private motorcycle club from approximately 1979 to the mid-2000s. The site has been owned by the City of Wyandotte, Treasurer's Office, since September 14, 2007, when it was purchased from Wayne County, Treasurer's Office, which had obtained the property in 2007 through tax foreclosure proceedings. The site was previously owned by the Iron Lamort Motorcycle Club until 2007, by Mr. Francis E. Wirtel from at least 1961 to 1980, and by Mr. James Lorency in 1953.
