Additional Property Attributes

The site is currently occupied by one building including a single-story portion, 3061 Biddle Avenue, occupied by a childrens clothing store, and a three-story portion, 3063 Biddle Avenue, which has a basement partially occupied by a mini-storage company with the remainder vacant. A loading dock and asphalt paved parking area are located north of the site building.

Former Use: The approximately 0.37-acre site is occupied by a building, originally constructed by Sears-Roebuck Sears in 1940, which has a single-story portion, 3061 Biddle Avenue, occupied by a childrens clothing store, Cecilia Melodys, and a three-story portion, 3063 Biddle Avenue, with a basement partially occupied by a mini-storage company, A-1 Storage Cubicles. The site was occupied by a portion of a charcoal shed and railroad spurs from at least 1890 to 1890, owned by Eureka Iron and Steel Works Company, which operated a foundry east of the site from 1854 to 1892. No foundry operations were identified to be located on-site. The southeast portion of the site was occupied by a gasoline filling station, with two 1,000-gallon gasoline USTs, from at least 1922 to the late-1930s. An automotive sales and service business, including a car wash, occupied the central portion of the site from at least the late-1920s to the late-1930s. The current site building was constructed in 1940 as a Sears-Roebuck retail store, 3061 Biddle Avenue, and included an automotive service garage, 3063 Biddle Avenue. Sears occupied the site until the late-1970s. Primary occupants of the site building since then have included retail stores, an art studio, wood furniture manufacturers, a self-storage business, and an electrical contractor. The site has been owned by Gary B. Lamb and Michael Bozenski since December 1986.
