Additional Property Attributes

The Phase I ESA revealed the following recongized environmental conditions: The historical evidence of a drycleaning facility adjacent to the Site building; The active gasoline station located upgradient to the Site; and The asbestos containing material (ACM) present on the Site.

Former Use: The property is currently a vacant lot. The former insurance office building was constructed in the 1940s and burned in 2007. The property owner demolished some of the building without an asbestos survey and without notifying MDNR. A slab with floor tiles is still present on site. The city of Festus plans on developing the property with a pocket park.
