Property Highlights

A Phase 1 ESA completed in July 2012 revealed RECs associated with on-site historical land uses that included vehicle repair, petroleum storage and potential landfilling. Off-site RECs included potential migraing impacts from petroleum storage facilities.

Former Use: Site is used primarily by the City of Tampa Water Distribution and Wastewater Departments for office, training, equipment storage, with limited maintenance activities. Historial use has included City Sanitary Sewer Maintenance and Construction Yards. the site was cleared and platted prior to 1931, the site and south-adjoining property was developed with the Tampa Municipal tourist camp which included a restroom building in the northwest portion of the site and the southern approximate half of the site was used for mobile trailer parking and living accommodations, similar to an RV park. The tourist camp remained present at the site into the 1950s and included a concessions building and horse racetrack in the western portion of the site. By the mid-1950s, the northern portion of the site was occupied by the City Sanitary Sewer Bureau�s maintenance yard and the southern portion of the site remained residential in use as a mobile home trailer park. The east-central portion of the site was unpaved and appeared as disturbed land which had been cleared in rows. It appears this portion of the site was used for a storage yard and the former on-site drainage ditch which was filled-in sometime between 1957 and 1965. The existing northernmost-located office building was constructed prior to 1965 and by 1973 the southern portion of the site was cleared of residential structures and the central to northern portions of the site appeared as a storage yard. In 1978, much of the site was cleared and redeveloped with the existing buildings and improvements including the maintenance building and canopied area.
