Additional Property Attributes

The site, a trapezoidal parcel, is located at 13165 Michigan Avenue and 4500 Maple Street in Dearborn, Michigan 48126. The City of Dearborn currently owns the site, known as the Dearborn Municipal Complex. The planned City Hall Artist Lofts redevelopment project will transform the historic 1922 Georgian-Revival style Dearborn City Hall into a blend of mixed-use affordable housing for artists and their families, along with commercial space for creative industries and ample public space. The planned redevelopment project will maintain the exterior of the historic structure and will create approximately 53 residential units, including studios and 1 and 2 bedroom spaces that will be leased at affordable rates, as well as approximately 19,400 square feet of commercial space.

Former Use: The site includes two buildings, Dearborn City Hall (13615 Michigan Avenue) and a municipal building and Post Office (4500 Maple Street), a parking garage, surface-level parking and a park-like area. The southeastern part of the site included a fire station and a garage until demolished in the 1980s and replaced with the existing municipal parking lot.
