Additional Property Attributes

Property consists of a vacant commercial property. Property will be redeveloped into a medical building.

Former Use: A millrace was excavated through the central portion of the subject property prior to 1927. Use of the mill eventually ceased and the millrace slowly filled in via natural sedimentation and potential land filling activities. Sometime in the late-1920s, a commercial structure, used by Knapp Construction Company, was constructed in the southwestern portion of the subject property (407 South Telegraph Road). The building was occupied by an automotive dealership (sales and service) in the 1950s through the early 1960s. Other activities at this property included warehousing, the sales of motorcycles, bicycles, tires, and car electronics, and a karate and gymnastics school. A warehouse associated with an icehouse, beer, and dairy product distributor located on the parent parcel south of the subject property was partially constructed on the southern-central portion of the subject property in the 1930s and was demolished prior to 1980. A Quonset hut associated with this facility was also constructed on the southern-central portion of the parent parcel (partially located on the subject property) in 1949. This hut was used for warehouse/storage and vehicle maintenance and was demolished in the 1980s. A small machine shop building associated with an automotive repair facility on the southern portion of the parent parcel (Monroe Piston Service) was constructed on the southeastern portion of the subject property in 1971. In approximately 2001, the aforementioned properties and associated buildings were demolished in preparation for the construction of the current subject building. The current subject building was occupied by Farmer Jack grocery store until approximately 2007. The subject building has been unoccupied since that time.
