835 South Main Street is owned by the City of Waterbury. the tanks were removed from the site in 2016.

Former Use: According to the Phase II ESA (GeoDesign), the Waterbury Button Company, which historically occupied the Site, was established in 1812 and manufactured metal and plastic buttons. Sanborn maps show that the Site was developed with several manufacturing buildings by 1884 and the Phase II report indicates that operations ceased around 1970. Manufacturing processes included plating soldering, dipping, gilding, dying, and machining.
