Additional Property Attributes

Property is located in historic Ybor City, just east of downtown Tampa. This area is one of the most popular destinations in town for both tourists and locals and was the cigar-manufacturing center of Florida founded by Vicente Martinez-Ybor. Ybor City today is one of only two National Historic Landmark Districts in Florida. The property is currently mainly used as an open parking lot and with a large parking garage located less than two blocks away, this property is a prime location for development to help continue to draw people to Ybor. 187 room hotel, restaurant and bar under construction to open in 2019.

Former Use: 0.82 acres of mainly parking lot with one historic building currently under renovations. Historically, the site is located in the oldest section of Ybor City. The reported oldest restaurant in Tampa was sited here in 1890. There have been many different buildings located at the site due to the devastating fires which occurred in 1908 and changes of usage. Historical city directories indicate that in 1925 WS Burgent operated a photographic studio on-site at 1410� East 7th Ave. and Angel Suarez operated a photographic studio at the same address in 1931. The site was mixed residential and commercial in use including: Anytime Emergency Locksmith; (2014) Kingdom First Property; (2014) Zoya Iounge; (2010) Advanced Environmental Tech; (2010) Buddha Lounge; (2010) Czar; (2005) Myhomeinspector Inc; (1990-1993) El Goya Lounge & Tracks; (1980-1986) El Goya Lounge; (1975) El Goya Restaurant; (1965-1971) Las Novedades Spanish Restaurant; (1909-1931) Adam Katz & Co. PCE contamination was detected in groundwater at the site in June 2016 (11ug/L PCE) appears to be emanating from an off-site source. Vapor assessment did not reveal VOCs in soil gas at the site.
