Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Notes on a historic property record card indicate the property was sold on May 26, 1942, again on September 15, 1949, and again on April 3, 1950. Elise Clark owned the property by 1956 and the property was transferred from Elise Clark to Hilary H. Koch on February 20, 1973. The property was transferred to Jason Koch sometime prior to October 13, 2008. Jason Koch transferred the property to the current owner (924 York, LLC) on November 20, 2009. The Property was platted by 1883 for multiple residential parcels with address ranges 612-624 York Street and 1004-1005 North 10th Street. Historic Sanborn Fire Insurance maps indicate the parcel was utilized for residential use from 1883 through at least 1906. By 1912, parcel addresses were renumbered and the 924-922 York Street parcel was redeveloped for industrial use as a foundry by the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Company while the 914 York Street parcel remained residential. The 924-922 York Street parcel was redeveloped by 1919 for use as bulk oil storage by the Clark Oil Company. The multiple parcels were consolidated and operations were expanded by 1927 by the Clark Oil Company and included a filling station (and four associated gasoline USTs) with large oil/grease storage areas. Portions of the building are known to have been utilized for vehicle maintenance in the later portion of the 20th Century. By 1985, the property was redeveloped for commercial use as a plumbing supply warehouse. Warehouse operations ceased in 2015.
