Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property has been used for industrial purposes since being developed in the late 1800s. It has housed farm equipment, painting, and foundry industries prior to its present use for manufacturing wood products. Foundry and painting operations occurred from approximately 1904 through 1949, and potentially into the 1950s. Foundries generate casting sands, slag, coal storage, and coke storage impacts that have historically caused environmental problems where the foundry is located. Similarly, painting operations tend to generate paint, paint solvents, and metal pigment wastes that can cause environmental contamination when not property disposed of. The site is along the Yahara River, and previous investigations have found information suggesting fill was used on the property. Millfab acquired the property in approximately 1962, and has made various improvements to the property until the company closed in 2014. The Stoughton Redevelopment Authority acquired the property from the Receiver.
