Additional Property Attributes

The following RECS for the site were noted in the Phase I: A former heating and air conditioning business, an appliance repair center and a car dealership were present at the site. Underground storage tanks were formerly located on the site and on adjacent properties. Dry cleaning facilities were located on the site and on adjacent properties. Former auto repair and service stations were located on the site and on adjacent properties. A glass manufacturing business was located on the site. Sampling of the soil and groundwater at the site is recommended. Benzo(a)pyrene and lead were found in the surface soil at concentrations above the Department's residential target levels, for the ingestion and dermal contact pathways. Naphthalene was found in the groundwater at a concentration above the Department's residential target level, for the ingestion pathway. These contaminants were found in an isolated area in the center of the site; there are no contaminants in the soil and groundwater near the property borders.

Former Use: This vacant 2.02-acre site was recently used to house an antique shop and a bowling alley. Buildings at the site have been razed; asbestos and lead-based paint were evident in the buildings and removed and disposed when the buildings were demolished.
