Additional Property Attributes

Regarding the Dec 2022- March 2023 Reuse Funding - And Build (&Build) personnel discovered stained soil during the removal of existing asphalt from the grading of the Site for the construction/expansion of a new City of Moundsville municipal building. The impacted material was first encountered approximately 2' to 3' below existing grade near the northeast corner of the existing Municipal Building. The location and extension of the excavation pit corresponds with the historical record of two former underground storage tank (UST) locations and a fueling island. The specifications of the USTs are unknown, as they were last used in the 1970s. One gasoline and one diesel is assumed. The USTs were reportedly removed sometime after the 1970s. There was no evidence of the USTs, or associated piping, during the removal. No free product was observed. Reuse and remedial planning services were required to determine if there is any impact to the planned construction of a new City Building on the Property.
