Additional Property Attributes

The Site is currently owned by the City of Gloversville. The Site has been developed since at least 1887. The Site itself is 4.16 acres. The Site includes one masonry building that previously acted as a boiler house and one smokestack for the Levor mill, two bridges that extend over Cayadutta Creek, and a gravel driveway. The rest of the property appears to be used as a storage yard for truck trailers, plastic totes, and other miscellaneous materials. A portion of the west branch of Cayadutta Creek flows south of the Site. Historically, the Site functioned as a lumber yard, a skin yard, and a storage yard. Adjacent properties located at 177 West Fulton Street and 19 Grove Street have utilized portions of the Site for various tannery operations over time. A former railroad spur ran along the southern property boundary. In 2012, the property was expanded to the south when a portion of the former George Levor mill and the Lee Dyeing Co. facility was purchased by the current owner. The Site property boundaries expanded across Cayadutta Creek following the purchase. A former machine shop, concrete coal silo, and a storage building were also added to the Site property.
