Additional Property Attributes

The Site is currently owned by Mr. Robert Floyd and consists of one (1) parcel of land totaling 0.55 acres. The Site is improved with a 7,464 square foot warehouse building constructed in 1930, located on the north side of the property. A paved driveway is located to the west of the Site building. Access was not provided to the interior of the Site building, which was viewed from the public sidewalk. The warehouse's current use is not known. The exterior of the property is being used for the storage of vehicles, heavy equipment, a tractor trailer and miscellaneous materials. The building appeared to be in good condition. However, a structural assessment of all exterior and interior areas would be required to determine if it is structurally sound. Gas, electric, water, and sewer connections are available to the Site. West Fulton Street adjoins the Site to the north and Broad Street adjoins the Site to the west. An access driveway for the Gloversville Transit System adjoins the Site to the south.
According to historical reports, the Site has been developed since at least 1892. The Site was developed as part of the Fonda, Johnstown, & Gloversville Railroad freight yard and used as a locomotive repair shop until circa 1960. Historically, the Site also featured a blacksmith shop, a coal and lumber storage shed, and a stock room. In 1966, the Site was occupied by Herbert Fairbanks feed and grain. The Site building operated as a feed and grain warehouse/store until the late 1990s. The warehouse/repair building footprint did not appear to change from the 1890s to the present. The building is potentially older than the assessor records indicate.
