Additional Property Attributes

Cleanup Planning includes: Remedial Action Plan, ABCA, PCB sampling and notification to USEPA and discussions with City and IEPA. Cleanup activities removed TSCA-level PCBs in soil and concrete.

Former Use: The Former Moline Foundry former American Small Business Property is located in the downtown Belvidere TIF district along the Kishwaukee River. The former foundry site was first developed in the 1880s by National Sewing Machine Company. National sold the site to Moline Malleable Iron Co. in 1954when the operation became known as National Gray-Iron Foundry, and the foundry closed in 1991. American Motivate LLC, now known as American Small Business LLC, purchased the site in 1996, and the City of Belvidere purchased the property in January, 2006, after having completed appropriate due diligence to perform cleanup of the site and enable redevelopment of the area as residential and mixed use.
