Additional Property Attributes

During J&J Railcars operations, railcar doors, gondola cars, metal casings, and insulated coil covers for railcars were manufactured. The main activities in constructing these materials included: welding, sandblasting, and painting. Three small mounds of suspect sandblasting material was found on the northeast and east sides of the property. A drainage sump runs across the middle section of the building where the paint activities occurred. Dirt and sand material was built up inside the drain. An underground pit was observed in the east section of the building. Its contents are unknown. Containers with used motor oil, antifreeze, paint, paint thinner, water, and all purpose absorbent was also seen at the former facility. Contamination by heavy metals appears to occur only on the western half of the property.

Former Use: The original tenant was Rasor-West (lawnmower industry). J&J Railcar, a manufacturer of railcar doors, was the second tenant. The facility is composed of a building subdivided into three sections. The west section is closed off from the rest of the building and is used as a warehouse/shipping and receiving area for Tracker Boats. The middle and east sections of the building are vacant and were used as the manufacturing and painting area for J&J Railcar. A dormant lagoon and two ditches were observed to the west and northwest of the building.
