Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) completed a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at the above referenced property in Osborne, Kansas. Based on the information collected during the Phase I report, "Recognized Environmental Conditions" were identified as significant potential for contamination due to a heating fuel tank and components onsite, as well as an upgradient historic drycleaner. Due to the identified REC, KDHE recommended a Phase II environmental assessment.

Business Environmental Risks (BERs) were found during a NESHAP Limited Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint (LBP), and Mold Survey. Based on the information collected during the survey, asbestos containing materials (ACMs) and LBP were identified.

KDHE completed a Phase II BTA at the property in Osborne, Kansas to evaluate the "RECs identified during the Phase I, completed in October 2020. The Phase II consisted of soil borings collocated with groundwater probes. Soil and groundwater samples were collected at the site for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH), Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and RCRA metals analysis. Based on the soil and groundwater data obtained during the Phase II BTA activities, contamination was not detected in soil nor groundwater at concentrations above their respective residential Risk Based Standard (RSK) for Kansas. Investigative results indicate further investigation is not necessary through the Brownfields Program and the property was cleared for redevelopment.
