Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) completed a concurrent Phase I and Phase II Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at the property in Russell, Kansas. The Phase II BTA was completed in September 2020 to evaluate the "Recognized Environmental Conditions" (RECs) identified during the Phase I, completed in July 2020. Based on the Phase I report, "Recognized Environmental Conditions" (RECs) were identified as potential hazardous substances and petroleum products due to the historical use of the property as a filling station.

Based on the data obtained during the Phase II BTA activities, contamination was not detected in soil at concentrations above their respective residential Risk Based Standards (RSKs) for Kansas. Investigative results indicate further investigation is not necessary through the Brownfields Program and the property was cleared for redevelopment.
