Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) completed a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at the property in Winfield, Kansas. Based on the information collected during the Phase I report, "Recognized Environmental Conditions" were identified as significant potential for contamination due to onsite plastics manufacturing and bulk storage of chemicals. Due to the identified REC, KDHE recommended a Phase II environmental assessment.

KDHE completed a Phase II BTA to evaluate the RECs in May 2021. Based on the soil and groundwater data obtained during the Phase II BTA activities, neither Volatile Organic Compounds nor Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons were detected in soil or groundwater at concentrations above their respective residential Risk Based Standard (RSK) for Kansas. Investigative results indicate further investigation is not necessary through the Brownfields Program and the property is cleared for redevelopment.
