Additional Property Attributes

Currently a vacant lot near downtown that was the Site of an auto salvage company. It was previously used as a landfill and some remediation work was completed in 2005 including installing a landfill cover and receptor trench.

Former Use: The Site is a 24.5 acre parcel located at 152 East Main Street in Bradford, New Hampshire. The Site is comprised of two main, roughly square sections, connected by a narrow access road. The rear section (further from East Main Street) is approximately 22.5 acres in area, and contains the landfill area and slab foundation of a former garage. The front section (road frontage) is approximately 2 acres in area, and contains two small buildings and a shed, used seasonally by the Bradford Historical Society as an office and blacksmith shop. The former owner operated the site with an unpermitted solid waste disposal/landfill, as well as an auto salvage and drum storage area, from approximately 1977-1983. The landfill was closed in 1993 by covering the disposal area with a low permeability glacial till cap, and by installation of a groundwater interception trench up gradient of the disposal area. Autocraft, an automotive repair company, also occupied the site as a tenant of Naughton. Autocraft occupied one garage that was demolished around 1997, and later a second garage. A concrete slab foundation of a former garage is still present on the rear section of the Site, in addition to the two buildings on the front section.
