Additional Property Attributes

Abandoned store is deteriorating and is currently a hazard to children in the village. Significant amounts of asbestos containing building materials within the structure complicate cleanup and disposal. The location is in an area discussed for expansion of tribal government facilities.

Former Use: Filled lands dredge spoils along Swinomish Channel on the Swinomish reservation. No ownership prior to tribe. Filled in 1st partof 20th century. Site of a small shipyard WWII, a tribal sawmill 1947-1960 and a tribally owned store abondoned in 1990s. Zoned for urban development.
