Additional Property Attributes

The Houston Parks Board intends on utilizing the land a future parks space, linear park land or hike and bike trails for the growing Houston population. A Phase I was completed in May with recommendations for a Phase II due to the following: On Site recognized concerns: Existing , miscellaneous solid waste including trash and abandoned items including TVs, metal of an old vehicle, and tires, etc. were observed on-site especially along Greens Bayou Street. These items should be collected and appropriately disposed. Off -Site recognized environmental concerns that could effect ground water: A former LPST site is located on the adjacent property to the east, listed on the EDR report as Jerry Drummond 12933 Greens Bayou Street. Groundwater from this property is anticipated to flow to the north towards the bayou. Although the LPST case was listed as closed in 1995, the location of the former UST tankhold is unknown and there is potential for groundwater to be affected beneath the site. LPST and Dry Cleaner sites nearby were listed in the report, but stated not likely to affect the property. Phase II data is reported in the Data Documentation section, and indicates that no further testing is necessary. The City is currently in the process of programing the park land for park development.

Former Use: Current owner is private land owner who has intention to donate to a non-profit entity, Houston Parks Board. This transaction is in support of an on going program where the non profit purchases land for the benefit and good of the public. Houston as the 4th largest City in the nation has a need for additional parks, open and green space. The Houston Parks Board intends on utilizing the land a future parks space, linear park land or hike and bike trails for the growing Houston population. A Phase I assessment is probable for this parcel of land due to the adjacent land use as with other similar tracts purchased in the same area.
