Additional Property Attributes

The site was a former agricultural implement dealer, with a vacant buildling. The Webster County Improvement Corporation (WCIC) sought to purchase the site, demolish the building, and prepare the site for commercial redevelopment. Concerns over potential environmental issues at the site prompted WCIC to contact the IDNR to request due diligence assistance. IDNR provided 128(a)funds to cover a Phase I. RECs noted in the Phase I included an area of the site where a former UST was present. WCIC conducted their own Phase II, but no signficant petroleum issues were discovered. The site required no further action. WCIC purchased the site and found a local bank, First State Bank, that wanted to build a new bank branch at the site.

Former Use: Site was a former agricultural implement dealer, with a vacant buildling. James W. Bell sold site to the WCIC on August 4, 2008. WCIC then sold property on 9/22/2008, with redevelopment beginning on 11/10/2008
