Additional Property Attributes

According to the Phase I ESA performed on behalf of the owners, historic aerial photographs identified the presence of apparent drilling activity and apparent former tank storage area and associated drilling mud storage pit or produced water evaporation pit from at least 1931 through to 1963. According to RRC records the site contains one well, drilled in 1931 by C.J. Barbier, L.B. Haberly and G.W. Gibson. The well was plugged by Pitzer and West in March 1945. No viable operators have been identified at this site. A Phase II ESA dated 9 December 2009, performed by the U.S. EPA documented concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and arsenic in soil that exceeded protective concentration levels (PCLs). The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) performed a Limited Phase III Environmental Site Assessment (Phase III ESA) in March 2010 to determine the lateral and vertical extent of the TPH impacted soil associated with a former pit, and to verify the concentration of arsenic identified in the previously completed Phase II ESA. In 2012, the soil contamination was remediated by the RRC State Managed Cleanup Program utilizing the RRC Oil and Gas Regulation and Cleanup (OGRC) Fund.

Former Use: The property is located within the East Texas Oil Field and contained an historic oil well originally drilled in 1931 by C.J. Barbier then later operated and plugged in 1945 by Pitzer and West. A Phase II ESA dated 9 December 2009, performed by the U.S. EPA documented concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and arsenic in soil that exceeded protective concentration levels (PCLs).
