"The RLF involve activities to safely remove and cleanup fire damaged ACM and contaminated materials and related debris at the Building 6 aka: Administrative Building, demolish remaining structures, and properly dispose and transport waste materials. The Building 6 remnant has presented an immediate health and safety risk. Although the Bldg 6 site has been secured with fencing and patrolling security guards, full security was questionable because Bldg 6 is located on a larger former FISCA site aka: Alameda Landing. People have accessed the FISCA site to salvage cooper and squat in vacant buildings and youth have accessed the property to hang out. These populations could be exposed to unsafe lead levels and ACM. Completing the abatement and demolition of Bldg 6 would remove an immediate health and safety risk, would clear the site for environmental investigation to continue, and would allow for the future redevelopment of the mixed-use Alameda Landing project. "
