Property Highlights

Former Use: Former industrial property that is vacant. Historical uses include tool manufacturing from 1961 through the 1980s. Most recently, the site had been used to warehouse wood palettes. The property has been vacant for the last ten years. The building is in deteriorated condition and the property continues to have drums and wood palettes stored on site. Previous assessment and monitoring work had been conducted on site. Consultant completed an inventory of drums and materials on the property, including in the building, and a limited Phase II. EPA completed a removal action on the site in 2011 to clean-up the building of hazardous substances and remove chemical containers. Town is having the wooden pallets removed from the site, due to it being a potential fire hazard. The Town is having supplemental assessment work conducted to close-out a portion of the site according to MassDEP standards, which would expedite the redevelopment of the site.
