Property Highlights

A BTA was conducted for the City of Lorraine, which is the owner of the property, to encourage potential buyers to redevelop the property. This site is being conducted through the Central Prairie RC&D petroleum grant. A post award eligibility determination from the EPA was granted on April 21, 2010. RECs were: the historic use of the property as a filling station and two 500-gallon USTs, a former mechanics pit, and a fuel pump island all of which are currently located on the property. A phase II was conducted. No significant environmental impacts were identified in the soil or groundwater. However, two underground storage tanks are located on the property. Regulations pertaining to underground storage tanks are administered by the KDHE Storage Tanks program. It has been recommended by the Tanks Program that the tanks be removed or abandoned in place to promote the future redevelopment of this property.

Former Use: Historically used as a service station from the 1920s to the late 1960s. Since the 1970s the site has been vcant land.
