Additional Property Attributes

Recognized environmental conditions were observed during the site reconnaissance. Staining on the concrete floor was observed in the area where solvent-based paints and thinners have been used. Staining was also observed adjacent to an air compressor north of the east paint booth. A recognized environmental condition was identified based on the historical records reviewed. The subject property was identified in the City Directory Report and on Sanborn Maps as an auto sales and repair facility and filling station since at least 1953. Painting was specifically identified as an activity on the northwest corner and gasoline tanks were specifically identified on the southeast corner of the subject property by the Sanborn Maps. A recognized environmental condition was identified through a review of user-provided information. The previously located underground storage tanks identified as tank system numbers 1-5, and 7-8 in the 17 November 2004 NFA letter from the state do not appear to have been completely assessed for the presence of contamination. The 1987 assessment identified contamination in the three tank pits sampled. However, the eter iso-octane used to assess the potential petroleum products in the soil does not directly correlate to a regulatory eter currently used by the KDEP. Additionally, the subsequent 2000 assessment did not sample any tank pits associated with former USTs, but sampled areas outside the building, and did not reach groundwater.

Former Use: The property is currently used by Kerry Toyota as an automotive collision and repair center. The property is located in Covington in a mixed residential and commercial area. A portion of this property was used as a gas station.
