Additional Property Attributes

Cleanup of the Craig Supply property will provide reuse as well as generate revenue, community development, and jobs for years to come. Cleanup of this abandoned and blighted property will eliminate all environmental threats in the area. The project will provide parking for the University of New Hampshire and the Town of Durham as well as provide intermodal transportation via the bus and passenger rail station. (PPF attached to QR 2, 1/1/06-3/31/06 and PPF - Former Craig Supply Company Property, 10/5/06) Building demolished, property temporarily capped with asphalt and is being used as a commercial parking lot to generate funds for cleanup. (PPF - Former Craig Supply Company Property 10/5/06 NHDES ST05)

Former Use: This was a commercial dry cleaning supplies company owned by the Craig family. Past use as wholesaler to the dry-cleaning industry. Closed and bankrupt by early 1990s. Town took the property for taxes.
