Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Based on observations map from the topographic, aerial and Sanborn Fire Insurance maps dating back to 1892 and the City directories the Site was a wooded green space until approximately 1917 and was initially used for residential purposes. In the 1917 map four residential structures were present at the Site. All the residences appear to be located along the south side of East Lexington Avenue. An additional residence located at the Site was represented in the 1927 Sanborn map. The new structure is depicted at the northwest corner of East High Street and South Elkhart Avenue. By 1945 the Site was being utilized by Elmers Body Shop as an a automotive repair facility. By 1968 no residences were located at the Site, and an additional garage was added to body shop. The current owner, Kash Properties, LLC., Robert and Janeen Kane took ownership of the Site in the early 1980s. They operated an auto body repair shop at the Site under the name Trendline Collision Center. Kash Properties sold Trendline Collision and leased the facility to Kent Campbell in 2002 who continued to use the Site as an automotive repair facility. Trendline ceased operation in 2007 and the Site has been vacant since and is currently for sale.
