Additional Property Attributes

Asbestos-contaminated soil was encapsulated in an on-site repository approved by the CO Dept of Public Health and Environment. The property will be redeveloped as a parking lot for a future adjacent 68 million dollar County Judicial Center that is expected to employ almost 200 persons.

Former Use: Located next to former rail yard. By 1904, a cold-storage facility was constructed, which was insulated with asbestos. The building burnt in 2007, contaminating the site with asbestos. In 2008, Pueblo County purchased the property for the parking lot area of a future Judicial Center.
