Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site was originally developed in 1950 as a hotel under various names, though it has traditionally been referred to as the Pink Motel. It was closed and abandoned in 1996. Following initial assessment under the Nye County Brownfields program the hotel was demolished in 2005.

Current Condition: in 2006 and 2007, a pocket park that hosts Farmers Markets and an Electronic Reader Board to announce local events was constructed on the site. in 2011 a portion of the site was redeveloped for the Nye County Emergency Services and Tonopah Volunteer Fire Department. A new building was constructed which now houses all equipment and activities for the Fire Department and for the Tonopah branch of Nye County Emergency services, including equipment and operations for the Nye County Volunteer Ambulance Service. In 2016, Tesla obtained authorization from the Town Board to install eight Tesla Electric Vehicle Supercharging Stations to help complete the "electric highway" connecting Nevada's two largest population centers. The Supercharging Station are located immediately adjacent to the Emergency Management Services Building, along the US95 highway.
