Additional Property Attributes

There were six buildings with a total of 40,000 square feet of floor space. The site is adjacent to the former Barrick Bullfrog Gold Mine and undeveloped open-space managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Numerous renewable energy developers have expressed interest in the former Bullfrog Mine site to develop Nye County's wind and abundant solar resource potential for generating power. Nye County and the Beatty Economic Development Corporation are working with developers to identify and implement needed infrastructure upgrades necessary to support potential renewable energy applications at the site. Additionally, the Town of Beatty hopes to develop a commercial and/or industrial park at the site. Due to vandalism, the metal buildings were removed in 2012. The concrete slabs are the only remaining site development

Former Use: The site consists of two contiguous parcels, 14.05 acres and 67.06 gross acres, respectively, for a total of 81.11 gross acres. The site was utilized as operations support for the adjacent Barrick Bullfrog Gold Mine from 1989 until 1998. After the mine's decommissioning, Barrick completed excavation and disposal of hydrocarbon contaminated soil in accordance with their Final Permanent Closure Plan with the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection. Barrick transferred ownership of the property to the Beatty Economic Development Corporation in October 2004.
