Additional Property Attributes

Property is being leased by a telemarketing agency and by Vision Construction as office space. (PPF-5/7/07)

Former Use: Site is the former location of a dry cleaning facility and an automotive repair operation. Other reported uses of the property were a restaurant, meat processing store, furniture dealer, funeral home, hotel and several taverns. The property had suspected PCE contamination from the dry cleaning operations. Through extensive soil and ground water testing during the 1990s, results determined that low levels within the soil and ground water were not the results of activities on the site. The property was purchased by Mr. Crook. Preliminary assessment activities conducted at that time indicated concentrations of arsenic (probably associated with the adjacent railroad spur) above industrial/commercial standards. Mr Crook agreed Institutional Controls on the lot, construction of a cap in the form of the building footprint and parking lot and deed restrictions. The portion of the lot not covered under the cap was remediated using CDBG funding. The work was completed and Mr. Crook developed an office building on the site. The property is currently leased to capacity. (PPF-5/7/07)
