Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Site history of significance includes the use as a gas station and was primarily contaminated with petroleum products. Underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the property in circa early 1980s. Phase II and supplemental assessment sampling demonstrated positive detections of lead, xylenes, benzene and SVOCs. Additional monitoring wells were installed to define contamination. A small hydrocarbon plume was defined. Fred and Brenda Keck, property owners, were not the responsible party for the contamination and they purchased the property after it was contaminated. The property owners did not qualify for any of the Florida Petroleum Cleanup Programs. The Kecks entered into a Brownfields Site Rehabilitation Agreement (BSRA) with FDEP in January 2004 for the purposes of addressing the contamination. Post-Active Remediation Monitoring activity was conducted using the AS/SVE system designed to remove hydrocarbon contamination. Post-Active Remediation Monitoring was conducted. In January 2006, sampling results indicated all contaminant levels below the detection limits. In March 2006, FDEP issues a Site Rehabilitation Completion Order (SRCO). The monitoring wells were closed according to FDEP specifications (PPF-1/31/07)
