Additional Property Attributes

Great Lakes, LLC had intended to acquire the site and develop a 12 million, 100,000 sq. ft. freezer processing facility. This state of the art processing facility would have repackage and process berries from over 60 farms located throughout Van Buren County and provide potential growth opportunities. The facility was projected to directly employ approximately 35-40 people upon completion. Subsequent to completion of a Phase I ESA, Great Lakes, LLC informed the VBCBRA that the development would not take place. Therefore, the Phase I ESA was issued by the VBCBRA to the City of South Haven to support future marketing/redevelopment efforts on the site.

Former Use: The subject property consists of two parcels of land occupying approximately forty-one acres. The property is currently vacant. The subject property was historically utilized for agricultural purposes and as a pasture by Sherman�s Dairy in support of commercial dairy operations. The site is currently owned by the City of South Haven. Great Lakes, LLC had intended to acquire the site for redevelopment. Subsequent to completion of a Phase I ESA of the site, Great Lakes, LLC informed the VBCBRA that the acquisition and redevelopment would not take place. The Phase I ESA has been issued to the City of South Haven to support future marketing/redevelopment efforts.
