Additional Property Attributes

Goodwin College anticipates redeveloping the site for commercial or retail use. The site is located on the west side of Main Street in a business/commercial area of East Hartford. There are currently no structures on the site.

Former Use: According to Town records, the Site is a 0.44-acre rectangular parcel owned by Goodwin College, Inc. since 2007. There are currently no structures on the Site. The eastern portion of the site along Main Street is paved asphalt parking and the western portion of the site is dirt and gravel. An �L-shaped� building was formerly located in the central portion of the site and was a part of the F. Howard Ensign Tobacco Company until approximately 1950, after which the building contained a residence and the Yankee Restaurant. Additions to the building were constructed in the 1950s when the building became a restaurant the restaurant was rectangular shaped. The site building was demolished in 2008. A second former residential structure the address has been referred to as both 381 � Main Street and 381 Rear Main Street was present on the Site behind the house/restaurant dating as far back as 1903. The construction date of the smaller residence is unknown. This property on which the smaller building was located is now a part of the parcel located at 385 Main Street.
