Additional Property Attributes

The subject property is referred to by the City of Portsmouth Tax Assessor�s office as Map 142 Lot 16. The subject property is occupied by one 2,377 square-foot building constructed in approximately 1946. The building is currently vacant, and was most recently occupied by NH Motorcycle, a motor vehicle sales and service business. The subject property has historically been used as a petroleum fueling station and for motor vehicle sales and service since the buildings construction in approximately 1946. The subject property is currently zoned for general business use. The subject property is currently serviced City of Portsmouth public potable water and sanitary sewer utilities. Electricity is provided to the subject property by Public Service of New Hampshire. The building is currently not heated, but has historically been heated by fuel oil, wood stove, and coal stove.

Former Use: Historical records indicate that the subject property was vacant from at least 1920 until the current building was constructed in approximately 1946, and was operated as a filling station between 1946 and 1949 until after 1980. The available records do not indicate if the subject property was occupied or developed prior to 1920. Records indicate that the area surrounding the subject property along what is now Kane Street formerly Myrtle Avenue was developed at least since 1893.
