Additional Property Attributes

The property has been redeveloped into a community parking lot that is used by the Board of Education, the Imagine Nation Museum - particularly for bus parking, Bristol Community Organization, patrons of Mafale's Plaza, and Melnick Metals. The parking lot also provides truck access to the Melnick Metals property, as well as pedestrian access to the Board of Education and Mafale's Plaza.

Former Use: The property is a former paper and cardboard manufacturing plant which began operation in late 1800s and ceased circa 1985. On-site materials used included glue, ink, kerosene, and coal for heating. The building sustained fire damage and was demolished in 1998. A 2,600 gallon UST was removed in August 1999. The property is traversed east to west by an unnamed stream. Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments were performed in 2000 by Metcalf & Eddy under the EPA Targeted Brownfields Assessment program.
