Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: A warehouse/ manufacturing building is currently present on-site. The building is currently vacant and is for sale/lease. Elkhart County records indicate the building was constructed in 1962. The property owner, Mr. Robert Brewster, indicated that the site was historically utilized by Clausing Service Center. Elkhart County Groundwater Protection Inspection and Registration Forms confirm that the Site was utilized by Clausing Service Center from at least 1991 to 2007. City Directory records indicate Clausing Service Center occupied the building since at least 1978. Inspection forms indicated that the site utilized various petroleum and hazardous substances including oils, coolant, paint and solvents. Inspection forms indicated that on occasion, 55 gallon drums were stored outdoors and/or without secondary containment and that the property is served by City sewer.
