Additional Property Attributes

The following RECS were identified on the Phase I in early 2007: past land use as auto maintenance facility, nearby uses including welding operations and auto/truck repair service centers, one site 55 gallon drums with unknown contents, diesel spill in 1994 and two former USTs on site. The recommended Phase II was completed in early 2008. Phase II findings included several compounds exceeding statewide groundwater standards, property deemed environmentally impaired for residental development and further assessment necessary. A Phase II Addendum was completed in September 2009 to further identify contaminants and plan for mitigation. Addendum stated a NFA Certificate from the Iowa DNR would likely be necessary to redevelop the site. The site is currently zoned for commercial use. Former Use: Trucking facility starting in 1967 that performed general truck maintenance and used various solvent in their processes. Site had two former diesel USTs, one 4,000 gallons and the other 10,000 gallons. The smaller of the two was removed in November of 1988. There was a diesel spill onsite in November of 1993 of 150 gallons. Several 55-gallon drums of unknown contents were reported at the property.
