Additional Property Attributes

The site is located within the central business district of downtown Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina. Properties surrounding the site are densely developed and consist mainly of miscellaneous professional offices, restaurants, commercial businesses, and surface parking areas. The overall slope of the area is towards the southwest. The major drainage feature in the area is the Congaree River located approximately 3,000 feet to the southwest.

Former Use: The site contains a three-story structure that is vacant. The interior of the building has been gutted. The rectangular-shaped building is approximately 31,440 square feet ft� and contains a basement. The building was constructed in 1939, has a flat tar roof, wood and steel beam support, and the exterior walls are constructed of brick and concrete block. A gated ten-foot wide ingress-egress easement is located on the eastern side of the building. Buildings are located on the eastern corner and the southern adjoining side of the subject site. An asphalt parking lot is located on the adjoining eastern property. Main Street forms the western to southwestern boundary of the site and Taylor Street forms the north to northwest boundary of the subject site.
