It is approximately 28.72 acres in size. The property is currently owned by Timeless Timber, Inc. and is used for the processing of salvaged timbers into various commercial goods. Activities at the property include lumber storage and retail sales, wood drying and planing, wood finishing and a gift shop. Five structures are present on the property and include an office/lumber retail/gift shop building, two large warehouse additions, a dry kiln building, and the former Lake Shore School building. Additionally, a sixth structure, the former East Bay, was demolished sometime between 2000 and 2002. The property was originally developed for residential purposes in the late 1800s. The northeast corner of the property contains a former school house that was in use until approximately 1956. The property has been used for various industrial/commercial purposes since at least 1965. The property was owned by the Board of Education sometime from the early 1900s to 1965, at which time it was deeded to the City of Ashland, and then immediately to the Beloit Hibob Corporation. This company used the property for the manufacture of wood hauling equipment until 1973. In 1973 the property was purchased by Continental Forest Products and produced wood treated products. The property was then leased in 1978 by the Louisiana-Pacific Corporation and built a saw mill that produced lumber products including treated wood. The saw mill remained in operation until 1988. In 1996, the property was occupied by Explorations International, which later changed its name to Timeless Timber, Inc.
