Additional Property Attributes

The former hospital structures were properly abated, demolished and many of the materials were recycled, including reuse on site. The improvements include a plaza space between the two apartment buildings, a parking garage and five floors of apartments. This project also added more than 1,000 linear feet of River Walk adjacent to the Tennessee River. Additionally, the development has made critical improvements to the adjacent public right of way, Blount Avenue by installing new utilities, new traffic signals, new sidewalks, medians and landscape.

Former Use: The property was previously developed with a vacant hospital building complex consisting of three wings. Wings A and B consisted of eight floors each, and Wing C contained four floors. A ground floor and mezzanine level were located beneath all three wings. Prior to construction of the first hospital building in 1948, the property appears to have been vacant.
